Sports grounds for children with disabilities
A healthy person does not always value his health, his way of life. Being constantly on the move, people sometimes do not engage in physical education or sports, believing that the movement per day is enough for the body to function normally. But as soon as a failure occurs and a person loses the ability to move, a lot of problems immediately arise.
It is not worth talking about the main diseases here, but the sharp restriction of mobility brings problems of a completely different kind. This is also the restriction of mobility, which entails malfunctions in the body, muscle dystrophy, a depressive state that can worsen as an immobile lifestyle increases. That is why doctors, organizations of the disabled, public figures, representatives of the administrative apparatus are trying to do everything to involve people with disabilities in active life.
In addition to involving such a category of people in business life, it is of great importance to create conditions for people with disabilities to exercise in order to improve the physical and psychological state of a person, to show that life does not end in a wheelchair or with another form of mobility restriction.
Sports and recreation areas and facilities are designed and built taking into account the specific features and needs of children:
with damage to the musculoskeletal system;
with visual impairments;
with hearing impairments.
Differences of sports grounds for children with disabilities from the usual
A street sports ground for people with disabilities is designed for several categories of people with disabilities. They should also be used for general training, which includes:
exercises to improve joint mobility;
to increase muscle strength;
improved coordination;
endurance development.
The second set of exercises includes active games designed to strengthen the body, restore collective ties, and improve the general psychological state of the body.
For classes in a general group, to strengthen endurance, flexibility, balance and mobility, each person needs at least 4 m2 of area, which, in principle, is the same for healthy people. But for the visually impaired, the area per person should be increased to 6 m2.
For classes on special sports simulators and equipment, such as:
handrails;
parallel bars;
walking mirrors;
rings,
crossbars;
special benches;
slides;
spandus stairs;
outdoor trampoline;
board for balancing;
low beams.
Special zones should be created in which the specific restrictions of the disabled are taken into account.
Technical features of sports grounds for the disabled
Outdoor exercise equipment from the manufacturer can be metal, wooden or plastic. The general requirements for the production of simulators for people with limited needs are the same as for the rest of the people who train on them. The metal must be cleaned and painted in several layers with a special moisture-resistant paint. Welded seams should be polished to a shine so that there are no nicks. The wood must be sanded and covered with several coats of paint. All plastic parts must be deburred and the edges sanded to prevent cuts to the hand.
A street sports ground for the disabled should have a much larger area, since it is necessary to take into account the area of the exercise equipment itself, the area of the safety zone, and the approach area where you can leave the wheelchair. As a result, at least 6 m2 is obtained for each training apparatus.
In Ukraine, for active recreation and playing sports designed specifically for people with disabilities, you can use ordinary playgrounds, only there the security zone should be expanded.
What should be the sports grounds for children with disabilities
At first glance, a children's playground for children with disabilities does not differ from the usual one. But the arrangement of such a sports and playground is characterized by an increase in the level of safety and accessibility for all categories of children with disabilities. All play areas must be equipped with special fasteners and ramps so that the child can fix the stroller if he rides on a swing or carousel. All playing areas should be arranged so that they can be easily accessed by wheelchair. The houses are made in such a way that the stroller can go inside, and the sandbox is raised so that the stroller can drive up to it and play without restrictions. You can also install a basketball backboard at a low height, organize a play area for futsal and other special activities that promote physical activity. The presence of ordinary children on the site has a positive effect on everyone, developing activity and sociability so that children with disabilities
